May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. To celebrate, we would like to recognize just a few of the many inspiring Asian American women in our community.
Today we are Highlighting Julie Pham, founder and CEO of CuriosityBased. Julie told us:
“I come from a family of Vietnamese refugees and entrepreneurs. I came with my parents as a two-month old baby as boat people in 1979. My parents started their own newspaper, Người Việt Tây Bắc, in 1986, which I worked at from 2008-2011. I just started my own business CuriosityBased, this year, we help foster curiosity on teams to build trust, collaboration, and communications. Refugees and entrepreneurs have a lot in common: we are resilient, resourceful, and optimistic risk takers.”
When asked what AAPI Heritage month meant to her, Julie said:
“It’s a spotlight on how diverse the Asian community in the US is. We represent many different countries, different pathways here, generations of being in the US, and different languages.”
